Day trips can easily be made to many places while you are visiting Sunshower Country Club. In the following area guide we will try to give you an idea of visitor sites that are within an hour to hour and a half driving time.

Indiana, The Hoosier State is where we start.
First of all right here in Indiana the state capital, Indianapolis, is only 70 miles west of where you will be staying.  In Indianapolis you can visit the very famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Hall of Fame Museum, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, The Children's Museum, the Hoosier Dome, the Indianapolis Zoo, and so many other great places for families to see. The Children's Museum is the largest and the 4th oldest children's museum in the world.

A little over an hour and a little further Southwest you can visit Brown County and Nashville, Ind. for a wonderful day of art shops and unique museums. Just northwest of Brown County, in Bloomington, Ind. is the home of Indiana University. While in Bloomington you can visit the Oliver Winery where you can take a tour of the winery and participate in a wine tasting if you wish. A wine festival is held there each June.
If gambling is your thing we have the Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg, IN. just about an hour south of the club. There is also the Grand Victoria Casino & Resort by Hyatt in Rising Sun, IN.
Want to travel east? Then on to OHIO, the Buckeye State.

Dayton, Ohio, is about 50 miles east of the Sunshower Country Club. In Dayton there are a number of wonderful, educational sites to see. You can visit the Dayton Art Institute, The Dayton Museum of Natural History, The Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop, Aullwood Audubon Center, and The Carillon Historical Park. All can be reached within an hour to an hour and fifiteen minutes - except at rush hour.

The U.S. Air Force Museum at the Wright -Patterson Air Force Base, is the state's number 1 free visitor attraction with more than 200 aircraft and missiles on display. While at the museum visit the Imax Theater which features two spectacular films on the big screen: "The Dream is Alive" and "To Fly". The Dayton Air Show is scheduled for July 29th & 30th, 2006 and it is one of the largest in the country. Flying acts from all around the world.

Driving down highway US 27 from Richmond, Ind. you will travel to Oxford, Ohio, home of Miami University. From Oxford you can travel on to Cincinnati. US 27 will take you through some very beautiful countryside and the drive into the Cincinnati area will take about an hour and thirty minutes. Cincinnati has a lot to offer a visitor to the area.

The Museum Center - Home of the Robert D. Lindner Family Omnimax Theater, Museum of Natural History & Science, and The Cincinnati Museum Center is located at Union Terminal.

There are more than 12 major festivals in the Cincinnati area from the Taste of Cincinnati in the spring to Oktoberfest in the fall.

For excitement there is also King's Island with the worlds longest, fastest, highest roller coaster, Coney Island, Cincinnati water parks, Reds baseball, and two tracks/ River Downs and Turfway. Turfway being in Northern Kentucky.

You can stay at Sunshower County Club and make day trips to all these places. Plenty of things to do for the family and for the kids, both at Sunshower and close by.
